An offering of Nritya to Lord Shiva will be presented in 5 different Indian classical dance forms.

A group of Indian Classical Dancers from Hyderabad are coming together to promote, enrich and enhance the Indian classical dance forms by putting together their collective resources and skills.

As part of this, the association has come up with the idea of conducting Indian Dance Festival 2014 – a performance of 5 Indian Classical Dance forms on one stage, with an intent to augment, encourage and to develop a new level of camaraderie among the cultural ambassadors of traditional art forms in India.

This is the maiden attempt of the association to bring together a line-up of performances by practitioners of different Indian classical styles. Thematically, the evening has been planned to coincide with the Maha Shivaratri celebrations.

Performances in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Vilasini Natyam and Odissi styles will be presented by the disciples of Geetha Ganesan, Yashoda Thakore, Sanjay Joshi and by Hari Mangalampalli, Pujita Krishna Jyoti, Ashrita Vemuganti, Gullapudi Raman Kumari, Radhika, Rajanimai, Sivani and Sowmya.

The festival will be inaugurated by Sri K.V. RamanacharyIAS, Advisor, Cultural Affairs. Chief Guest of the evening is Sri Mukteswar Rao, IAS, Commissioner of Endowments, Secretary Youth, Advancement, Tourism and Culture and the Special Guest is Ms. Nayantara, Founder – ‘Our sacred space’.
