Prestigious ICMR honour for three UoH Life Science faculty

Three faculty members of School of Life Sciences at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have bagged the prestigious Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) awards. The awards for the years 2011 and 2012 that were announced only recently are as below:

Dr. Suresh Yenugu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences has won theICMR Smt. Swaran Kanta Dingley Oration Award – 2011.This is in succession of he receiving the ICMR Tilak Venkoba Rao Award - 2008. He has done his PhD from Osmania University and researches in the area ofreproductive endocrinology, with specific emphasis on male reproductive tract immunology and contraception.

Dr.Bramanandam Manavathi,Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry has won theNovartis Oration Award for Research in the field of Cancer - 2012.He has done his PhD from SK University and researches in the area of Molecular and Cell Biology, Signal transduction and Oncology.

Dr. Gutti Ravi Kumar,Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry has won theICMR Tilak Venkoba Rao Award - 2012.He has done hisPhD fromIndian Agricultural Research Instituteandresearches in the area ofmolecular mechanism underlying megakaryocytopoiesis in neonates.
