The following are events are lined up for the upcoming week at Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad.

1.

21 - 30 JULY | PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

MAGIC OF CINEMA

ANNAPURNA STUDIOS: 21 & 22 JULY

GOETHE-ZENTRUM HYDERABAD: 24 - 30 JULY


The Magic of Cinema is a novel exhibition which juxtaposes photographs of old movie theaters, film studios and galleries of Hamburg against old cinema houses and film culture of Hyderabad.

The German counterpart focuses on pictures based on archival material from Film- und Fernsehmuseum Hamburg. Exhibition concept is by Rita Baukrowitz and Volker Reissmann with artistic creation by Hauke Hatzelhoffer. Hyderabad photographs were commissioned in 2014 by India Week, Kinemathek Hamburg and Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad. Creatives and photography for this part are by the Hyderabad based photographer Prashant Manchikanti.

7:00PM- Screening of Cinema Paradiso

An unemployed actress, 8 long-term unemployed men and women come together in a training measure. The actress has to form a group out of a bunch of frustrated lone wolves and starts rehearing the classic play 'Antigone' with them.

This gives new impetus to the participants' own private dramas.
