Call for Workshop Scholarships  The RLC Campus at ZEF, University of Bonn, Germany, offers scholarships for PhD students from Asia and Africa to participate in the international workshop on "Mobilization for Change: Human Rights and the Empowerment of the Marginalized", September 3-8, 2016, in Bonn.  

The DAAD workshop scholarships will cover all costs for international and national travel, hotel accommodation, catering, and working materials. The workshop will be embedded in a variety of social and cultural side-events.  Who can apply?  PhD students from Asia and Africa who conduct empirical research related to human rights and empowerment of marginalized people from all scientific disciplines. Preferred are PhD students in the middle or end of their studies. Fluent English is mandatory. Applications from women are particularly welcome.

Economist or statistician as a (post-)doctoral researcher with good knowledge of health economics and econometrics.

The HMKW Hochschule für Medien, Kommunikation und Wirtschaft is a privately run, fully state-approved and officially accredited German University of Applied Sciences. It invites applications for the following post: Professor in Journalism (m/f) 

The HMKW is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative, high performing academic to a Professorship in the department "Journalism and Communication". 

The HMKW is seeking somebody who conveys both practical experience and academic thinking the students. A doctoral degree and at least 5 years of working experience (with at least 3 years outside academia) are legal requirements. Preferrably, they would employ someone who can integrate various fields of journalism (with TV/video journalism being a must, combined with experiences in at least one of the fields of radio, print or online journalism), and has already teaching experience at university level. 

As all teaching is to be done in English, an excellent command of the English language is a precondition.

Each year, the German Chancellor Fellowship for prospective leaders gives up to 50 highly talented young professionals from Brazil, China, India, Russia and the USA the opportunity to spend a year in Germany enhancing their professional qualifications. Working with a host and mentor of their choice, the fellows implement independently developed projects in their respective field, e.g. in politics, business, society, culture or the media.
Application requirements include :
a Bachelor's or equivalent academic degree (completed less than twelve years before the beginning of the fellowship)
initial proven leadership experience
German or English language skills
a project plan
a letter of acceptance from the fellow's German host, who may work e.g. in an organisation, a business, in public administration, a cultural institution or the media.

The University of Siegen
The Department of Media Studies at the Faculty of Arts (Faculty I) aims to fill the position of a University Professor of Media Anthropology  at the earliest possible date.
This is a newly created Professorship for research and teaching in the field of ethnographic media studies in its combination with theory formation in cultural anthropology. Results of such research will enhance the methodologies of qualitative media studies as well as the localised study of global interconnections in order to productively contribute to connected research areas and teaching in the field.
The successful applicant should have a proven track record of research, focussing on at least two of the following areas: visual anthropology, ethnomusicology, anthropology of religion, gender research, non-European regional expertise. Expertise in any of the areas mentioned above can be proven through research with either a contemporary or a cultural-historical focus.
